Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Her modelling career began in Italy which is where she was raised before being was born in California. The first time she acted was in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Then, in a minor role in the movie Starship Troopers she struggled very for a long time. It was a difficult transition for Amy since she needed to move from modelling into performing. Models aren't considered great actors, so they usually get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. Her first part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy was then promoted to lead parts in 2005's romance film Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge film at the box office and Amy was finally able to get the fame she had been striving for for over a decade. She then continued to appear in several of the most famous film productions, such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
