Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It was the top streaming music of that time within six month. It was a mixture of pop music and reggaeton did not just bring interest to reggaeton, but also brought attention towards Latin music in general. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs mainly in Spanish in 2016, compared to two in 2015. In the height of Despacito's success in 2017, 19 songs mainly made in Spanish were in into the Top 100. This number rose to 41 in 2020. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017 and soon after the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) and Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for certain performers during the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, determined to maintain the style. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music, and various other genres was a typical practice.
